This is a new variant of orthognathic surgery combined with orthodontics in which the patient is operated on at the beginning and the orthodontics is done after the surgery.
Only some cases are susceptible to this variant. The advantages are very significant: the typical facial worsening that happens in the first months with conventional orthognathic surgery does not occur, the orthodontic treatment time is greatly shortened, the patient can better schedule the date of her surgical intervention and adapt it at her convenience.
Our experience to date has been very satisfactory.
